Fairer for our Members

Members own our Co-op and shape our business. It costs £1 to become a member, giving our members a share in our Co-op. Being a Co-op member is more than just deals on rewards, this means that members can have a say in how we are run, from the products we well to the causes we support:

• In 2022 we launched four of our member-designed products, which saw our new ice cream and a new member-designed cheese blend hit the shelves alongside new chocolate lollies. Our members also helped create our new 'Crumbs' gingerbread which helped members and customers celebrate halloween.

• In 2022, 33,862 members voted in our AGM, supporting our collective action on climate change as well as our plans to ‘level up’, shaping our action in tackling inequality and social mobility.

• Members participated over 774,000 times during 2022 in ‘everyday’ participation opportunities from creating new food products to supporting our community mission in Time to Talk day.

These are examples in addition to the rewards and deals members receive such as discounts on products across our businesses such as Co-op Insurance, Co-op Funeralcare and Co-op Legal Services as well as exclusive member deals in our food stores.
